Welcome to the home page of the Appalachian Center for Agroforestry.

Located in Madison County, NC, we have various research sites and educational programs throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia.

We believe that the current economic paradigm of the climate-changing global economy is unsustainable and threatening to both our planet’s ecological systems and human health.

Our home deserves better, and so do we!
It’s been obvious for far too long now that one cornerstone to the regenerative shift we need to experience is a more local, community-empowered, and resilient relationship to our food-web.

That is why we are doing agroforestry research, outreach, education, and propagation work within our bioregion  to help create a more integrated, indigenous 21st century Appalachian culture and way of life.

Please join us while we undertake this journey, and continue to create this path.
